PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2009

award 2009-1 During our Christmas party at the end of December, all EFCB teams, coaches and parents came together to celebrate another successful year for the club. The players had a chance to show off their skills in front of the many parents, family members and friends. In the morning the U11 girls competed against the U9 boys while in the afternoon the U13s faced the U15 boys and U15 girls in a 5-a-side indoor competition. Around lunchtime the popular EFCB Player of the Year Awards were presented in recognition of the individual player’s improvements, commitment and overall performance during the year 2009. Congratulations to the following children who picked up the trophies this time around: Morris, Jonathan, Aaron, Alex (all U9s), Josh (U11s), Roja & Georginia (U11 Girls), Conrad (U13s), Tom, Carlo, Nico and Rafael (all U15s). EFCB Team of the Year: the U15 Girls. We also like to thank all parents for their donations made during the event and their continuing support throughout the year.

ANOTHER GREAT SEASON FOR THE EFCB

England-tour-2009-1 I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all players and coaches involved with the EFCB this season on their efforts. 2008/09 has been a fantastic year with all teams performing to the maximum of their abilities, on and off the pitch. Our league teams finished the season with one 3rd place (U14 Girls), two 4th (U11s + U14s) and one 5th place (U12s). The non-league players participated in a couple of tournaments and friendly games - the highlight here was certainly the tournament win of our U9s/10s in Lankwitz in May. As in the previous years, but on a larger scale, we took 5 teams on tour to England, this time to London and Liverpool. Apart from having a lot of fun and growing together even more as teams and as a club, we made a lot of new friends on our travels. A few teams have promised to come to Berlin for a return visit next years. The official opening of the 2009/10 season will take place on September 5th when all teams get to compete for the Vanda Bilson Cup. Thanks to all of you who made vital contributions. The club wouldn't work so well without your support. Have a great summer!

EFCB U100s TURN THINGS AROUND AGAIN

U100 NOV 08 Following two very frustrating years of defeats and disappointments, the EFCB U100s seemed to have found their winning formula again. In October they played a travelling team from Reading and, surprisingly, kept the upper hand. The 5-1 win was well deserved and credit needs to go to our very fair opponents from West Berkshire. The next big test for our veterans will be the 5-a-side event the day before the Germany vs. England game in November. The tournament is part of the German-English football evening 'The Game before the Game' and will see our club competing alongside Media teams from the UK and Germany, the Foreign Ministry, The British Embassy and the Bundeskanzleramt. Also part of the tournament are the official Fan clubs of the DFB and the English FA and the Bobic All Stars.
